reset normal.doc to blank document

the normal file that opens when i open word 2000 comes up with text already
in it. i need it to be blank again. apparently one of my children saved
their homework as the normal.doc file

I posted almost the same question today but while waiting for a response
solved the problem. If you will go to
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HP051892671033.aspx you should
find the answer to your problem. It worked for me!
