Replace text with field.

Is it possible to replace text with a field?
I have one 100 sites big document and I nedd to replace plain text with
caption for image.
E.g.
Plain text: "Picture 24" -> Picture {SEQ Picture \* ARABIC}

I would like to do this with Find and replace function in Word 2003

Hi snah,

AFAIK, you can't insert a field via Find and Replace.

In any event, you might be better off replacing these via Insert|Caption,
and defining a new 'Caption type' of 'Picture'. This will give you access to
the automated numbering sequence to want. Plus, Word will likely
automatically assign the 'Caption' style to the affected paragraph.

There are a couple of ways to insert a field using F&R. In this case the
easiest is probably to create the field once and then copy it to the
clipboard (and delete it from the document) and use "^c" as the replace text
(or part of the replace text).

Enjoy,
