Repairing Internet Express

My name is Karen and I am having big problems with IE6. I can't seem to
reinstall it. It does not show anywhere in "add Or remove programs" , but
when I try to download it my computer tells me that a newer version is
installed and installation cannot continue. Can someone please tell me what
is happening and how to fix it???? Thank You,, Karen

Make sure your anti-virus is turned off.
The section
Windows XP and Windows XP SP1: Edit the registry and install Internet
Explorer 6
works on earlier versions of Windows.
If you are using WinXP SP2 you will have to uninstall that first.
