Repair Control Panel portable Media Device Icon

How can I get the "original" icon back for the Control Panel 'Portable Media
Device" icon, instead of the "generic" icon. I have already tried the
TweakUI 'Rebuild icons" and 'sfc /scannow" methods already.

Control Panel - Icons Missing

Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT

Go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\don't load

Look in the right pane and you'll see the Control Panel Icons that have been
disabled. You can either right click on the "don't load" subkey and select
Delete to restore all disabled icons, or you can right click on each of the
items in the right pane and select Delete to selectively restore them. Scroll
up to Control Panel Applets for a listing of what each one is.

The change will be seen the next time you open Control Panel.

I have since discovered that the 'Portable Media Device" icon "seems" to be
tied to Windows Media Player. I did a "rollback" of my Windows Media Player
11 (back to version 10) and the icon was displaying correctly. However, I did
re-do the Windows Media Player 11 install and the icon got "screwed up." Any
suggestions to repair this while still using Windows Media Player 11.

In further testing and searching, I found that "audiodev.dll" that is
delivered with Windows Media Player 11 is about half the size of the one that
came/comes with Windows Media Player 10. Not only this but it has a icon with
a exclamation within a yellow triangle.
