File Type Icons in Windows Explorer

Even though I have associated the wav file type with Adobe Audition (or
Media Player Classic, as a test), the icon for wav files in Windows
Explorer never changes from the musical note icon provided by Windows
Media Player. Neither a TweakUI/Rebuild Icons or reboot helped. If I
look at the file type associations in Tools | Folder Options | File
Types, the Adobe Audition icon is displayed properly. If I double click
on a wav file, it opens in Audition. The problem is only with the icon.
How can I file the problem?

In Folder Options,File types, change the icon to anything else. Then Restart the PC
and change the icon back then reboot.

It did not work, but I was able to change the icon manually through the
Advanced button, so all is well. Thanks.
