Renaming a Domain?

Guest

I work for a company that has recently undergone a name
change. Our domain is currently Corp.ourname.com I want
to change this to Corp.Newname.com. Is there anyway to do
this without demoting the server to NT 4.0 then Upgrading
again to 2000? Our DNS server is in Mixed mode but we
would like to move it up to native after the name change.

Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.

First, you don't demote to NT4. But if your system is Active
Directory, there is no renaming of a domain in W2K and below. In
Server 2003 you can do this. You can create a new AD domain and
migrate everything to it, or if this is just for internet name
resolution, simple create the appropriate standard zone in your DNS.
