removing add-ins specially Internet Optimizer from Internet Explorer

My default address line search engine has been changed to
the Internet Optimizer. One of those predatory programs
that try to point me to things that I do not want to buy.

First; did the internet optimizer do anything illegal by
installing itself uninvited into my browser? And if so
could we file a class action law suit against the company

Second; how do I get rid of them?
