Removing a printer port

One of our IT staff created a printer port incorrectly. It should have been
a TCPIP printer port. Instead, they created a local port. I would like to
delete this port. When I attempt to delete it, I go to
start>>settings>>printers, then click on file>>server properties>>ports. I
highlight the printer port I wish to delete, then click on the delete port
button. I get the following error msg back, "Selected port could not be
deleted. Operation coould not be completed". How do I go about deleted this
port?

If there is a printer assigned to the port you cannot delete it. Create the
tcp port, reassign the printer to it, and then delete the local port.

Ed,

Thanks for the reply. I deleted the printer from this port but it still
will not let me delete the port. Any other suggestions?
