Remote desktop keyboard bug

I've been using Remote Desktop for years with few problems. I just purchased
a new notebook and I'm having a bizarre glitch when using my computer at
work. When typing, every once in a while the cursor will jump to a new
location or some shortcut will be activated. This happens in all
applications. It only happens on the new notebook. Every other computer
works fine.

The notebook is a Dell Studio with XP SP3 installed. It has an ATi Mobility
Radeon graphics card. I've seen some posts about issues with ATi drivers in
the past so I disabled the ATi control panel and processes and it still
happens.

Does anyone have a suggestion? This is a big problem since I have a trip
coming up and need to work remotely using this specific computer.

Thanks!

Cover the touchpad with a piece of cardboard.... Still happen?

Thanks for the replies. I'll check the keyboard settings and event log
tonight but I don't expect to find anything. There is nothing unique about
the basic XP configuration on the subject computer. It's a fresh install
that I did a few months ago.

I suspected the touchpad as well but I believe I've eliminated that
possibility by testing. I also suspected a defective keyboard for a time but
I doubt that now as well. I am going to hookup an external keyboard and
mouse just to see what happens.

This only happens in a remote desktop session. It does not happen locally
so it's unlikely it's a touchpad or keyboard issue.
