Remote desktop cannot see ntbackup ??

It appears that remote desktop when opened on a remote computer cannot
see some programs. One of them is ntbackup.

eg. Open your remote desktop then start ntbackup, the process starts,
you can see it in the task manager BUT you cannot see it remotely on
the remote desktop. Does anyone have any solutions for this.
(this is running from xp to win2003 server)

Thanks

I remoted from one machine to another (Windows XP Professional on both
ends - fully patched) and ran ntbackup and did not experience what you seem
to be.

So I remoted from Windows XP Professional to Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition
and Standard Editions to try it. Both worked flawlessly. Neither Windows
2003 machine has SP2 for Windows 2003 installed at this time.

Thank you for your response.

Well I went to run the ntbackup with vnc and low and behold the gui
didnt show up there either, although is shows up in the taskmanager.
So now im stumped it looks like the gui is not opening up although the
process starts in the task manager. So it looks like Im going to have
to do some research on why its not opening opening up.

Im trying to set up some backups remotely and could not figure out why
it just would not show up. By the way, I have read that the desktop
can cause problems with nt backup. I have read this on several places
including MS web site. Is that still true that you know of? Has there
been any fix to this?

Regards
