remote assist problems

i am trying to remote assist a friends computer. we have done this many times
before , but for some reason it wont work this time. it appears that my
settings have changed and i am not able to remote assist? what settings could
this be? i s this a sp2 issue? when i run remote assist on my end and try to
inviie someone i get " your computer settings prevent you from sending
invitations" any ideas?
