Registry size issues

Help!
I did something to aggrivate my system.

My Internet Explorer kept opening a search window without
me asking it to. I looked in the Startup folder to see if
anything was added there, and there wasn't.

Next I looked in the registry for the additional "search"
enabler. I could not find it.

Then I decided to import a saved registry from two weeks
ago. TROUBLE! I was told the maximum registry size was
too low and for me to expand it.

I don't know how.

When I exited windows, the system would no longer boot.
It said it could not find C:/windows/system folder ??

I then booted in Debug mode and the system said it could
not load my user profile because of insufficient system
resources and that it would load the default profile. I
said "sure!"

I now get the error "Maximum registry size is too small
to ensure windows runs properly. Increase your maximum
registry size."

I then get about 5 error messages that it cannot "find"
some INF files (chl99.inf, wpie5x86.inf, msmsgs.inf,
icw.inf, and ie4uinit.inf)

Windows now loads, but no icons appear on the desktop.
All I can do is shut it back down.

Help! I am desperate!
