registry key to remove wizard entries for camera uploads

hi all,

running xp home (as owner with 3 kids as restricted accounts) on a p3-1000 with 512 ram

have paint shop pro 8.1 and photo impact 8.5XL (without photo album installed) and zoombrowser along with software from canon A80.

using my previous fuji 2650 camera i used camera and fax wizard to upload pics from my camera and it listed my photo apps correctly when the window opened giving me choices which to open with as i never set a default.

so now when i plug in my new canon A80 camera and i get window open asking which app i like to use i see" photoimpact album" which i do not have installed but is a part of photoimpact and there are also 2 listings of "zoombrowser" along with other apps installed like picture it and paintshop pro.

i am computer literate so if i can be guided to registry key where these apps are listed i can edit the key.

trouble is i have searched and searched the registry and have yet to find it.

i know i can choose the defult apps i wish to use in this window but i don't want to do that i only want to list apps available.

i think you must have misunderstood what i am talking about as i have no usb problem at all.

I don't think you have a USB problem. You want to know how to edit your
registry for a specific photo software. If you read the article there, it
will give you the info. I understood you are computer literate, just go down
the article to find how to edit your registry to add (in your case remove)
as needed. Or maybe start again tell it us what your problem is.

there are no software listings in the usbstor.inf file. only hardware listings.

the software listing i wish to remove is in the autoplay window (for "pictures" but is similar for music,cd's,etc.) that gives one the choices of photo software installed (but in this case has double listings for one and a phantom listing for one no longer installed),open folder,camera wizard as in this case.

the properties of which are shown via right click the drive/camera in question.
