Registry Edit: Admin is disabled can't get in!

I am the admin on my computer withWinXP Pro. I cannot for the life of me
figure out how to enable my registry so I can edit it. I keep getting the
message the Admin has disabled this and you cannot edit it. Great! How do
I fix this. I am new to XP and I do like it, but this security we have to
figure out is a pit!!!
