Hi there, as a complete novice I was wondering if any of you out there could
help with the problem of not being able to send emails. it keeps coming up
with:

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Happy Birthday', Account:
'pop3.blueyonder.co.uk', Server: 'IMAP4.blueyonder.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP,
Port: 465, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Many thanks

(for OE, read WM).
Configuring OE for IMAP
IMAP is an extension to the usual method of collecting e-mail using POP3.
You do not have to use it, and your mail will work fine if you just use POP3
with the default settings above.

If you do wish to use IMAP, all you have to do is create a new account and,
when you are prompted for the e-mail server name you need to enter
imap4.blueyonder.co.uk and ensure that you specify that it is an IMAP server
and not a POP3 server.

Don't forget that you still need to have smtp.blueyonder.co.uk configured as
your outgoing [SMTP] server!

-----------

You have the incorrect out going server entered.

Tools>accounts>select account>properties>server tab change outgoing server
name to smtp.blueyonder.co.uk

Ensure that the type of account is set to IMAP.
