Reformatting hard drive after XP Upgrade

Guest

I have recently upgraded to Windows XP Home, replacing Windows ME. I now
want to reformat the hard drive to start over clean. I have done this with
ME before. If I do it now:

1) Do I reinstall ME first and the the upgrade again?

2) If the first question is "yes" do I use my ME boot floppy disk to start
the process?

3) If the first question is no, could you point me to some step by step
instructions to do this?

4) Am I allowed to activate the XP upgrade again on the same computer with
no hassle?

Appreciate the help.

You should NOT need to install ME first. During the fresh install, you'll
be asked to provide the ME CD as proof for the upgrade.
To install from the XP CD, go into your BIOS and make sure the CD drive is
the first boot device. Then start up with the XP CD in the drive. When it
says press any key to boot from CD, press any key. Wait until it loads up
and asks you to either install XP or repair using recovery console.
Obviously you want to install. Then choose not to do a repair install, do a
clean install. Follow prompts from there. Don't connect to the internet
until you have turned on your firewall after the XP install is complete.
Unless you're behind a router w/ firewall. Then go to windows update and
download SP2 and whatever else you need.
Good luck
