Hi.

An ask, if i reformat and reinstall XP, do i have
to "Activate" again XP?

If "yes", will i receive a message like: "this copy of XP
was already activated... get in contact with your
dealer...?

Thanks

Greetings

It depends. Yu may activate it as many times as you like as long as its the
same PC. If you says you need to activate and you get lucky you press
"Next" two times and its done. If not, you will have to call Microsoft
(take 5 minutes) and tell them a code the activation wizard generates, they
will tell you a new code, you type it in and you are done.

If you reformat, the record about activation that was stored on your
hard disk is lost (and no, despite what some may say, you cannot take
the files forward) and so the new install has to be activated just like
first time. You will again have 30 days within which time get on the
net and use
Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Activate windows
to activate on the net in maybe 30 seconds, just like the first time.
Only case where that would not work is if you have made a lot of
hardware changes and the one produced by reformatting puts things over
the edge so you would have to phone the toll free number. To avoid
that, if you have made several changes, see the hint in 'Format Hard
Drive' at www.aumha.org/win5/a/wpa.htm
