Red X Warning

A couple of days ago I began receive a warning from Windows with a red x
saying: "Windows cannot find " 'http:/ . . . . . .". Make sure you typed the
name corectly and then try again. " By the time I've finished reading the
warning, the page I've requested appears. This happens every time I request a
new page.

How do I get rid of this warning because clearly I'm able to access the
page(s) I've requested? Help please, and thanks!!!!

Hi sharpei

Are you using Firefox? If so, the problem is most likely down to a bug
in the FF 2.0.0.x installer which caused some file types to have garbled
settings.

Here's a link to a fix which should help (see the post by "jscher2000"):
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=2767445

As well as changing the settings for HTTP and HTTPS, as the post
suggests, I changed HTM and HTML too, as I couldn't open shortcuts to
local files. All now fine -- hope it works for you too :)
