Red Cross - Where something should be displayed

I have a new version of XP and IE6. When I go on certain
sites, normally of a home-made type, where a button or
image should be, I just get a small red cross in the top
lefthand corner. I have a small network at home and my 98
running laptop doesnt have these problems.

Can you help?

Check your Java if the buttons or images are generated by some script.
