Recover Deleted Items not working!

When I attempt to Recover Deleted Items in Outlook '03, the item doesn't
return to the Deleted Items folder. However, when I access Outlook Web
Access, the item is in the Deleted Items folder there. My IT department here
at work is scratching their head over this one! They have no idea why this is
happening!
Any thoughts?

Has your IT department tried to delete and recreate your Outlook profile?
Delete it from the mail applet, restart the PC, then recreate the Outlook
profile. Don't delete the mailbox on Exchange, just recreate the profile on
the Outlook side.

K: Thanks - yes, they've done that ... they've tried everything ... well ...
not everything, because we're still having the problem!

Does your Outlook 2003 not have SP1 installed and are you using cached mode?
Those two scenarios together may mean that recover deleted items doesn't
work.

We have a winner - it's "cached mode" that's the culprit! Unfortunately, we
need to leave it on as there are scenarios where I will need it functioning
on my laptop!

On an "as needed" basis, I can go in and disable cached mode to recover any
deleted email, but then I need to re-enable it ...

No biggie - I've suffered worse!

Thanks again - great troubleshooting!

Disable it, close Outlook, delete the OST, start Outlook, and reenable
Cached Exchange mode to allow Outlook to rebuild the OST from scratch. See
if that helps.
