"reception error "

I have been using the fax feature for some time, now
however I get the error message "reception error" when
ever someone sends a fax. I've replaced phone lines, but
its something in the software I think. What can I do to
correct his?

Please provide the version of Windows you are running. Also, where do you
see the error? Does sending work? Are there event logs pertaining to fax?
Need more details.

I am having the same problem. Can send faxes but when
receiving I get the reception error. Log states error
event I.D. #8218. I'm running W2K, using an ISDN line and
also a separate 56K faxmodem (3COM Robotics). I've set
receive fax up to prompt me to "answer next ring as fax"
so I can get out of all programs. Still doesn't work. MS
Windows states it has to do with the timing and threads
and that they recognize it as a problem but that doesn't
help me much. Any ideas???????
