Windows XP Recently Opened Files No Longer Appearing In Start Menu

Yeah....I thought it sounded weird, too.

But it's true. There are no files appearing in the start menu that I have recently opened. (See screenshot)

I'm positive that it is enabled...so...what am I to do?

I can't stand it when I know that something isn't working right...:(

By the way, that is not Vista. It is still XP, just a different visual style. (And no, that is not the cause of it.)

Go in to control panel, then Task bar and Start menu. Go to the tab Called Start Menu. You should see a button called Customize. Click that. Just check that the number of programs on the start menu is set to more that 0. And just clear the list. Dont know if it work after that tho.

Then you are suffering the same problem as have many.


To configure the settings for the Programs list, follow these steps:

1.Right-click an empty area in the Start menu and select Properties.
2.Click Customize.
3.In the Customize Start Menu dialog box, click Use Default Settings, and then click OK.


I do use Vista. :D
