recent changes lead to frequent IE6 restart

After the latest automatic update from MS installed itself, both of my home
computers began expeienceing the same problem with IE 6: fairly frequently
(several times/day) we get an error report and IE6 restarts. We keep sending
error reports, but so far there is no 'solution' offered by MS...

Any thoughts/suggestions??

You've got the dreaded automatic security update which is what is
causing the crashes -- a MS version of a virus I suppose. Here's how to
fix it:

- turn off auto-update
- download SP1 again
- reinstall IE6 and ignore the warnings it's already installed
- retrieve MS updates and install all except the one from August/06

MS had promised a fix on August 22nd but they didn't deliver.
