Re-install stops saying it cannot read files

I am trying to re-install Windows XP Pro on a laptop after replacing the Hard
Drive. I am using the re-install disk provided by Dell. I get past formatting
the drive and as it is copying files it stops and says it cannot read
esent97.dll. I click retry a few times and it continues....a few seconds
later it says it cannot copy kodak_..... (I forgot to write down the file
name). I have tried clicking the retry button several times with no success.
I have another Reinstall CD so I tried it and it failed at exactly the same
places. Any suggestions?

The main causes of this problem are a bad installation disc, bad CD drive,
bad memory, or a bad hard drive. You've ruled out the cd itself. run memtest
on the memory and run the hard drive mfg's drive test utility on the hard
drive, if they both test ok, then your CD drive may be the culprit.
