Quick Solution?

Hi,
I am networking 2 PC's via a Cross over cable.

The 'host' is running XP and the 'guest' ME.

I can connect the 2 and share files. But sometime the XP gives an error of
Limited or no Connectivity! And the I cant share files.

Also, when they do connect, I am unable to Ping the other PC, it says Host
Unreachable.

I primarily want to link the PC's up to play games on. There is no internet
connection required.

Can anyone help me?

Cheers,
Steve

Steve,

The "limited or no connectivity" message is not a problem - just an advice,
saying that an APIPA address has been assigned because a DHCP server can't be
found to issue an address.

If both computers get APIPA addresses (while only the XP SP2 computer will
display "limited or no connectivity"), they should be able to connect.

What ip addresses are issued? Please provide ipconfig information for each
computer.
Start - Run - "cmd". Type "ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt" into the command
window - Open c:\ipconfig.txt in Notepad, copy and paste into your next post.

Cheers,
Chuck
Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.
