Question after upgrade to Native mode domain

I had a 2K mixed mode domain and upgraded to 2K native mode domain. I
was under the impression that all of the pre-windows 2000 names would
go away, but they didn't. Like the Pre-windows 2000 domain name. Is
this by default??
