I have a 2000 server SP4 (PDC) with DHCP, AD and now RIS installed, and a
default image ready. The RIS service is told to accept requests and the
tickbox "do not respond to unknown client computers" is cleared. The rest of
the network uses a netgear router (as the gateway and firewall). All clients
are attached to a switch that’s attached to the router. On a dell laptop the
PXE starts to go but returns: "PXE-E53: No boot filename received"
The DHCP on the server has a scope defined and is authorized, since
something is not working correctly, i have a first guess that the main
router/gateway (that assigns the IP and has DHCP) could be causing problems.
Are there any ideas from the experts out there?
All help appreciated, thank you in advance
