RIS server problems

A

Apollo

I am trying to get my RIS server working. The problems I am having are:

1. Client obtains the IP address but keeps reporting "PXE-E32: TFTP open
timeout" how do I get beyond this error?

2. How do I have DHCP working on my existing server and RIS on my new
server?

Thanks,
Apollo

Hello Apollo,

Thank you for using newsgroup!

Based on my research, this issue may occur if you have installed Teaming
Software for the NIC on the RIS server or any other NICs have been
installed on the RIS server.

You can disable this software and deactivate second NIC on RIS Server to
see if it can help.

Thanks & Regards,

Ken Zhao

Hi Ken,

No teaming software for the NIC is present on this server. Basic win2k3
server install with MS updates.
Please advise, thanks.

Hi Apollo,

Thanks for your response.

What is the DHCP server? Windows Server 2003 or Windows 2000 server?

Does the issue occur on all RIS clients with all same network adapters?

Thanks & Regards,

Ken Zhao
