Putting Digital Photos onto CD/DVD to play on TV

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to copy digital photos onto CD/DVD, that
can then be read by a DVD player and thus be dispalyed on the home TV?
I have tried simply copying photo files and burning them onto a CD, but my
DVD player will not read them.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Yes, it can be done. Doesn't Microsoft's MovieMaker (part of SP2) do
this?

yeah you have to make a slide show movie and put in on the disk...or you
could use something like Roxio which will make DVD or VCD for you

If I remember correctly, Movie Maker only outputs High MAT on CD's. I have
yet to come across a DVD/CD player that can play them. I'm sure that there
must be many out there, but they sure aren't common & I haven't seen one.

Thanks Tim,
Have tried using MovieMaker as you suggested but the CD-RW created will not
play on my DVD player. Any thoughts why this is the case?

I used a really nice and simple program to burn a DVD slide show of
photos with a song in the background. You could play the DVD either on
a computer or a DVD player. The program is from ArcSoft and quite
inexpensive.

I'm sure there are lots of other programs that will do what you want,
too. Just go to your local computer BigStore and take a look around.
