Put file extension turned out wrong

hey, I originally had a file with no extension. I then
simply put in .mpg after the file name and changed it
to an mpeg, but turns out it's supposed to be a .wmv. I
want to change it back. how do i do it? any help is
appreciated.

Just right-click it and 'rename' it.

r-click it and Rename again, and change the .mpg to .wav this time
(accepting the message warning about doing so)

It helps a lot to make sure first that you go to Folder Options - View
and uncheck 'Hide file extensions for known file types'.. Then you can
see what you are doing
