Pushing SP4

Most of our computers have SP3 and the subsequent patches
applied. I'm considering pushing SP4 over these installs.
I don't relish the idea of having a hundred or so updates
on top of SP3 when Microsoft is on to SP7. and the PC
techs claim that installing SP4 on top of SP3 has been
solving a number of problems. Nonetheless, I can't help
wondering if I am borrowing trouble. Opinions?

I cannot get Win 2000 pro SP4 to complete - just about
when it is finished I get an error message saying that it
cannot find METABASE and bombs

You will find many negative opinions about SP4 on these NGs because people
only complain when there is a problem. The vast majority of us have had no
problems installing SP4 on multiple computers.

Ya, that's why I come check here - I want to hear all the
complaints before I push out a patch. Pushing SP4 worked
great. I couldn't get all the computers on the network
(for various reasons), but I did push it out to about 250
and I didn't have any problems.
Thanks to those who responded to my question. It's nice to
be able to get input from people outside my organization.
