Publishing Problem / site not available

Greetings and I'm sure there have been a 'zillion' publishing problems but
here goes...

I've taught FP for several years to distance learning students and they
access the web from their home computers. Never have had a problem with any
one not being able to publish to their assigned subweb.

This week a student has tried and tried to publish from his home
computer...he has wireless Internet and his ISP provider is Time/Warner
Roadrunner.

When he types in his URL.... http://www.daisiweb.com/XXX (xxx = his last
name)

He gets the message that no such site exists and should he create one...of
course he can't. He never even gets the User Name and Password screen.

I suggested he contact road runner and/or Net Gear to see if he is being
blocked from logging on.

Anyone have any ideas? Suggestions?

Anything would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Bill

Just as I posted this questions...the student sent me e-mail...you might
find this interesting solution...

"Oh man - After searching the web for hours I finally found something that
works! I have Google Web Accelerator installed on my FP computer and one
site said to disable it as it tries to route all pages through its proxy. I
disabled it and it works now. Man - that was painful! But it is working
now!"

most likely a firewall issue with his modem/ router, or even some antivirus
or security software on his home computer, but you could have him try to
publish into that domain/ sub web with both the www. prefix and without.
I've seen situations where it'll work fine without the www. and totally not
work at all with it (and vice-versa).

My husband and I also are having trouble publishing our web site. We no
longer get the loggin and password screen for comast! We just bought a new
computer with Vista on it, and I thought maybe that was the problem.

Any other suggestions.

Thanks
