HELP! Publishing Errors :-(

G

Guest

I am having the following publishing problem and my web
host INSISTS that everything is working well on his end.
He is unable to provide any assistance other than to just
say FrontPage is buggy.

OPENING LIVE SITE ERRORS:

When trying to open one of the may websites I have located
on the same host server, either using the domain name or
the IP address, I get the following error:

"The folder 'http://www.mywebsite.com/' isn't accessible.
The folder may be located in an unavailable location,
protected with a password, or filename contains a / or \

PUBLISHING TO WEBSERVER ERRORS:

ERROR: "Unable to open "http://www.mywebsites.com" Server
Error" The web server at "http://www.mywebsites.com" does
not appear to have FrontPage Server Extensions installed.

I just uninstalled, cleaned up and re-installed the server
extensions for the domain hosting account so they are in
fact there.

I can use WS_FTP ok but need to use Publish because I have
forms and other features in the sites that include
FrontPage features.

Sorry we are hosted on Linux - I have previously had no
issue until they changed IP addresses on my host server.
I am not sure if this is related or not. They tell me no!

Since your IP address was changed, have delete the web folder and any .web files?

I have not deleted any files off the web server. I am
asuming that my provider did not either. Is there
something specific I should be looking for?

Sorry, what I meant to write was:

Since your IP address was changed, have you delete the web
folder and any .web files from your local machine? If not, you need to do this with FP closed.

OK - I found a bunch of them and deleted all of the *.web
files. I did this with FP closed as you suggested. I
then emptied my recycle bin. I then tired to do both:
open the live web and publish from the local web to the
server - - Unfortunatly this this not solve the problem,
I am still getting the same error messages.
