Hello,

One of my students has a weird problem when trying to publish his Frontpage
XP site to Angelfire. He signs up for a free Angelfire account, activates
the Frontpage Server Extensions and then publishes his website with success.
So far everything is fine. However, when he tries to publish again, let's
say a day later, he constantly gets the following error:

404 Not Found
The requested URL /_vti_bin/shtml.exe/_vti_rpc was not found on this server

Resetting the FSE in Angelfire doesn't help. He tried this with several
Angelfire accounts and each time got the same problem. When he publishes to
a Tripod account he has no problem at all. And my other students and myself
have no problem whatsoever to publish from Frontpage XP to a free Angelfire
account.

According to some Google search results I got, the problem could be due to
Angelfire running an Apache server and the FSE are messing up. But I didn't
find a clear solution that WE could try. And since the Angelfire account is
free, we shouldn't expect too much help from that end.

So I was wondering if any of you have a solution ...

Thanks for any hints,

Lenny

Student may be breaking the extensions if not using FP's Publish.

I have a client who has the exact same prob.
Publish once, no prob.
Publish a 2nd time and *everything* inside the www folder
gets deleted. extensions, html, support...EVERYTHING!
I have made a workaround for them but still need to find
the answer. Seems like we're not the only ones...

weird though, how with Angelfire - no end to problems, with Tripod - easy as pie.

Hi,

He does publish with Frontpage, so normally he shouldn't be messing up the
FSE himself.
