.pst import problem

ok, everytime i try to import my pst file into my current account it does it
fine but when i look into my calendar the dates of the events are wrong. ex:
I get paid ever other week and i put on my calendar the pay day. Let's say i
get paid on friday the 5th, after importing the pst it extends the tasks by
one day so you will see paid for the 5th and the 6th and that is the same for
all holidays and calendar events. Why does outlook do that. I want to be
able to export my pst and then import it if i have to redo my computer but i
don't want it to extend to another day like it is doing. I have all the
updates for windows and office 2003 installed. Please help this is a real
pain. I hope that i have explained everything.

You have listed one of the many reasons we have posted here on a daily basis
why you should never import a PST file. Just open it.

even when i open a pst file i can see the other calendar. That is not what i
want. I want to import my contact and my calendar events into my current
profile. When i do that outlook extends the events buy one day so you have
when you exported your calendar a date that was fine on lets say the 5th but
when you import things back in you get that event streached out to the 5th
and the 6th. Even the holidays are messed up. I think that if i import
something back for the 5th it should be on that date and not extend two days.
Come on microsoft?

Quit with the importing already.
Once you open the file you have 2 choices:
1. Copy what you want from it into your current file (do not import it).
2. Reset Outlook to use your old file. This makes the most sense for a new
installation, since the new file is empty and the old one has all your data.
There are thousands of posts here that tell you how to transfer Outlook
data:
