Outlook 2007 PST import issues

I am having issues when importing PST files that contain all emails,
contacts, and calendar information. I create an Outllook a newly named PST
file every month and keep them in a folder in My Documents. About every 4 to
6 months I reload my laptop becasue it gets loaded with presentations, etc.

When I reload Vista and all of my programs, I do it from a clean install
image I created about 6 months ago. Once the image is installed, I import my
last PST file into Outllok 2007 and I am back in business. However, when I
do this I end up with larges quantities of duplicates in my contacts and even
worse are the duplicates in my calendar. I also noticed that there are a
number of very old contacts that come back with the PST file. I now these
contacts have been deleted long before the PST was last updated.

My calendar experiences so many errors. I have many, many roccuring
appntments that get doubled and duplicated. Even the Outlook holidays get
duplicated. It is total mess.

1. How do I prevent all of the "OLD" contact information and contact
duplicates from being imported?

2. How do I stop my calendar from being trashed on the import?

3. How do I prevent calendar from doubling all of my appointments,
holidays, and scrambling my reoccuring entries?

Thanks for any assitance,

Mike

Don't import. Open the saved .pst file with File/Open/Personal Data File
and then move the messages/folders where you want them to be.

Or open the 'old' data file and in database management set it as the default
msg store
