pst Error when sending and receiving

Hi,

I am helping a user who keeps getting the same error
message when she boots up her pc and then when she clicks
send and receive in outlook. The error message
says "Personal Folder: The path specified for the
E:\SJones\Outlook.pst is not valid". When we click on OK
it takes us to a window that says "Create A Personal File
Folder". We just cancel out of this and the no into
Outlook. Whenever we click send and receive we get the
same error message. Can anyone help us to get rid of
these error messages?

Thanks,

Chuck

Chuck,

What version of Outlook are you using? Since you are trying to do a
send/receive function then the mail must be being delivered to a mailbox on
the Exchange server.

Is this personal folder needed - or do you just want it removed.

Remove it:
If you are you using Outlook 2002 or above go to File - Data File Management
and you will see the personal folder listed. Remove it from here.

If you want to add/locate the personal folder do a search on the system (or
network) for *.pst files. Make sure to search hidden and sub-folders. Note
the location of the file - now go back to Data File Management and add the
pst - you will need to browse to the pst you just located.

Thanks for your help. The user is running Outlook 2000
and Windows 2000. I went to Edit but there are no
preferences. I searched for Data File Management in help
but I could not find it. Any ideas on how to proceed?

Thanks,

Chuck
