Programs connecting to internet?

I have a Family Tree program trying to connect to the internet. If I open
up the program I get my dial up pop up box. Where do I find these programs
so I can stop the ones I don't want trying to connect automatically?

Look for an Options or Preferences dialog from the program's menu.

Open the application, look in the various menus for Options, Preferences,
Settings or the such and then look in there for any connection settings.
