Product registration numbers Missing

I started to download XP into my new cmputer. The Windows XP has a 25
number/letter series for identification and registration usage that is needed
to complete windows setup. I lost the copy of the numbers. I checked my old
computer under the system identification but the PID is a different set of
numbers. How do I:

1) recover the ID numbers from Mircosoft or

2) recover the number by using the XP CD on another computer

The Product Key is not embedded in the CD.
