Problems with XP and Roxio

I am having problems with Roxio. My problems are two fold.
1) When I go through "control Panel" to “Add or Remove Programsâ€, I still
have 2 Roxio programs listed. Easy CD and DVD Creator, and Roxio DVDMAX
Player. When I try to uninstall Easy CD Creator I get a Windows Installer
window that says, "Preparing to remove" but does nothing. When I try to
uninstall DVDMAX, I get a window that ways "An installation support file
could not be installed. The system cannot find the file specified". My only
option is to close it.
I've downloaded and ran roxizap, but I still have this problem.
My 2nd problem is when I "click and drag" and delete certain items. Every
time I click and drag I get a window that says, “Preparing to installâ€, then
another window that says, “Easy CD & DVD Creator 6â€, The feature you are
trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available."
"Insert the "Easy CD _DVD Creator 6' disk and click OK." I have OK, Cancel
and Browse... options. When I click cancel, I get another Easy CD & DVD
Creator 6 window that says, “Error 1706. No valid source could be found for
product Easy CD & DVD Creator 6. The windows Installer cannot continue.†My
only option is to click OK, once I click OK, the cycle is repeated 1 or 2
more times then the file is copied or moved, but I have to go through this
cycle every time I click and drag.

Reinstall the programs then remove them from Add and Remove.

So what do you do if you do not have the original disk anymore? I have
this same exact problem, it is very frustrating.

download and install then run OUCPR from microsoft. this will check to
see if your installer is valid. this is a common issue with xp and
roxio.

With respect, the message you are replying to was around 5th January
and the OP is unlikely to be still about to read your response.
