Driver conflict - cd rom & burner won't work

Guest

I get the following message when I boot up. This problem started when I
uninstalled Easy CD. I don't have the orginal disk, and can't reinstall it.
I've uninstalled realplayer and reinstalled it.

The computer says there is no trouble with the hardware. I've physically
disconnected the ribbon and reconnected it, uninstalled the software and
reinstalled it. It's not the hardware. Cds simply are not being read...

Any ideas on what to do???

What version of Easy Creator was installed?

What CD program are you now trying to use?

Hope this helps.

I am not certain but I think I read something in Google, which I cannot
now find.

I think a driver does not get removed when you uninstall Easy Creator 5.

You may track it down this way. Right click on the My Computer icon on
the Desktop and select Properties, Hardware, Device Manager, DVD and CD
ROM Drive, xxx Drive, Driver Tab, Driver Details and check each until
you find one where the Provider is Roxio and it has a version beginning
5. Then find it in your Windows, System32\ Drivers folder and cut and
paste it into a Desktop folder for safety. See if that fixs the problem.
If not please let know the name of the driver you found.

Gerry:

C:windows/System32/Drivers/Cdrom.sys
C:windows/System32/Drivers Imapi.sys
C:windows/System32/Drivers Redbook.sys
C:windows/System32/Drivers Storprop.dll

These are the four files. See anything?

Jeff.
