problems with windows explorer

Left window (folder window) in windows explorer is empty and of gray color, there is nothing in it. system is Windows 2000 Small Business Server, SP 4, domain controller.
If I switch to Seek or logg, they appear like usual. When I switch back to folder view everything appear just gray.
