problems with sharing internet

Sam

I have two machines, one Win2k and the other is Win98.
I've enabled ICS on the 2k and it assigned the ip address
192.168.0.1.

The other Win98 machine is setup to auto assign a ip
address automatically. This machine cannot use the
internet and has 207.68.171.247. It never goes through,
but can share files and see the other PC.

Any suggestions?

Look at the IP address of the Windows 98 machine. If you are using ICS, I
believe you need to enable the other computer (W98) to get an IP address via
DHCP.

You would be time ahead to go to the Win2000 PC, hit F1 and look up
Internet Connection Sharing. It lays out how it works and how to set it up.

I will give you the same answer. You would be time ahead to go to the
Win2000 PC, hit F1 and look up Internet Connection Sharing. It lays out
how it works and how to set it up.

I'm also having a hard time with internet connection
sharing. I can get it up and running ok but if I shut down
either computer it won't work the next time I start it up.
I then have to set it up agian etc. etc.

Any ideas why this happens?
