Problems with closing down Windows

In the past couple days, I have had a problem shutting windows down. When I
try to either restart or shut down my notebook computer, the computer just
locks up and will not restart or shut down. I have to manually shut the
computer down and then turn it back on again. All it will do is go to the
blue screen with "microsoft windows xp" on it and then it just locks up
there. I havevrun a virus scan and several adware and spyware programs but I
am still having this problem.

This happen for incompatible soft or hardware, corrupted files first you need
to this:
start the computer - go to start - right click my computer - properties -
now a system properties windows open - go to the advanced tab - click the
settings in startuo and recovery and a windows startup and recovery will open
you need to uncheck the box automatically restart and make sure that write
event box and send administrative alert are check - go out with ok. when you
turn off if you get a blue screen you need to writte the event id or message
error again to this post to find you a solution. there are workaround this
issue but try to find all information in your blue screen before going to the
regedit

what are you talking about? After doing all the stuff you said to do, the
computer still won't restart. I had to manually restart it again. There was
no message that came up when the blue screen came on. I have no idea what
you mean by this.
