Problems playing vob files

My Computer freezes and I have to reboot my PC when I try to play vob
files. I've reinstalled my video drivers and installed xp codecs but
it's still happening. Does anybody got any ideas on how to fix this?

One way - Media Player Classic.

It also freezes on Media Player classic, Power DVD, and even my ATI TV
tuner software. It will play the DVD's but 10 sexs after you stop the
entire PC freezes. I'm able to play avi, mov, mpg, divx and mp4's with
no problems.

I've checked my direct X and that's seems to be running ok. Can
anybody tell me is their get log or something to isolate what the
problem is and to fix it?

You shouldn’t need to play VOB files directly. VOB files are the MPEG2 video of
a DVD; you should play the IFOs of the DVD instead (you don’t get subs,
navigation, etcs with raw VOBs).

VLC (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/) can play the whole VIDEO_VTS directory as DVD
files, or VOB files directly if you need to. It’s more (auto-)adaptable than a
lot of players.
