Problems installing Acrobat: getting error 1316. Network error....

Hi there,

I have recently brought Adobe Acrobat 6 and when I install it it completes
to within 99% but then I get this alert box:

Error 1316. A network error occurred when attempting to read from this file.

C:\WINDOWS\Installer\AcroPro.msi

Does anyone know what this means and a likely fix?

I am getting the same message for every installation of every application I
try. I believe there is a problem with our set up of the installer, but I am
unable to find a way to fix it or replace it that doesn't actually require
that the installer is functional. These problems began when I attempted to
upgrade the installer to a later version.
