Problems between IBM ViaVoice 10 and XP

I've just bought the IBM ViaVoice 10 Standard Edition.
And installed following instructions. The first usage was
OK as the ViaVoice got to know my speech patterns etc.

However when I booted-up the computer the next day
ViaVoice was very unstable. And kept freezing and giving
me "error messages". So I uninstalled.

After two more attempts to re-install it failed each time
again.

I like the programme but don't want to corrupt my
perfectly-functioning XP.

Help please?
