Problem with the Internet Security Fix KB867801

Please help..
I have installed the critcal update KB867801 for
cumulative security update for Windows internet explorer
6 (SP1).
Unfortunately since this install whenever I attempt to
click on to an user account the windows system
automatically restarts (i.e. the system crashes)

I have since uninstalled this critical update (in safe
mode) and I can successfully sign into user accounts with
no problem as before. Has anyone else experienced this
problem?

My internet explorer version is a follows:

6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422.1633IS
cipher strenegth: 128 bit
update versions: SP1, Q823353, Q832894, Q831167

Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.

Thank you

Gordy

Yeah, I have the same problem. Since this is so new, probably there is no
fix yet. I'm using FireFox to access the secure sites now. I'm sure a fix
will be out soon. Just watch the group for now. Sorry.

Hey I figured it out. If you are logged in as an Administrator, you cannot
log into the secure sites. Try your guest account. Looks like we need to
change to using a Non Administrator account for web browsing.

Here is some more help for any who need. You have to add the site you want
to access via a user name and password to the trusted site section under
security. Tools> Options> Security. Must be an https:// type site.

You should be able to log into secure sites from any user account. That you
can make this work simply by using another means that there is something
different going on in your Administrator account. What that something is, I
have no idea. It could be a setting or a difference in what online programs
are allowed to run (including spyware/adware, etc).

Thanks for advice given - I haven't reinstalled the
security update (KB867801) yet but will have another
crack tomorrow. I will let you know if I have any luck!!
