Problem with slow image loading WinXP IE6 SP2

I have problem with IE6 SP2 that drives me crazy.
When loading pages with several images, the page is rendered with texts and
flash contents, but GIF/JPEG images doesn't become visible/loaded for about
a minute after the text and the flash contents is visible.
The IE progressbar shows a message that there is item remaining to be
loaded.

This problem started after the latest Windows Update (2 weeks ago) and I
have tried uninstalling Symantec Antivirus 2005 and disabled Microsoft
AntiSpyware but I still have the same problem.

The text on the website and any Macromedia flash (?!?!?) graphics load fast
and I can scroll the page but the IE window renders trash when scrolling.

I have a 12Mbit Internet connection so this is no "it takes time to load
images"
I also have MSN toolbar installed, but I doubt that that's the problem.

I have tried the following without any positive results:

- Uninstall Norton Antivirus 2005 (No viruses was found before)
- Disable Microsoft Antispyware (No spyware could be found before)
- Restored all IE security settings to the lowest
- Runned "sfc /scannow"
- Unintsall Macromedia Flash 7

I'm getting tired of this.. anyone have anything else I can try?
I don't want to reinstall WinXP to get this fixed.
Also, I can't reinstall or repair IE since I already have the latest version
according to Windows Update.

Another thing is that Firefox (that has been installed on the same system
for over a year) works fine and loads all images fast so there is definetly
something with IE here. Just don't know what?!

Clear the Temporary Internet Files. In IE>Tools>Internet Options>
Delete Files button. And check the box to Delete Offline content.

Also, run a Defrag.

When you mention it, I changed my TIF folder to a RAID drive for about 2
weeks ago and when I did that IE crashed.

After that I have tried to delete the TIF folder from within IE6's
controlpanel, but that didn't do any changes to my problem.
I have also changed back to the prevous TIF folder without any success.

Is there someway that the TIF index can be corrupted or something?
Any ideas what to do?

Log on as a different user with admin privileges and delete your TIF folder.
