I would like to be able to monitor my disk speed, I used to be able to, but
now all the physical disk and logical disk performance objects are missing.

does anyone know how to get them back?

Thank you

I had the same problem not too long ago. When you open the Task Manager if I am not mistaken you should have a window with your details in it and then a kind of outer rim around it (mine is tan). Just double click on that outer rim at the top and your tabs should come back. Hope this helps.

How do I get to the performance monitor task manager? Or are you talking
about the Windows task manager?

Try Start> Run> perfmon.msc to open the Performance Monitor. These *.msc
files are snap-ins to the main management console. Check the help file for
how to snap that tool back into the main console.

What I am trying to get is in the "Add counters" section. I am trying to
add a "perfomance object". In the performance objects section there used to
be an object called "physical disk" and it is not there anymore. Using
that performance object, I used to be able to see the exact speed my disks
were being written to or from - bytes/second. I couldnt figure out how to
view that performance information using the snap in. All I got was the
status of the disk like available space, file system and whether or not it
is healthy. and after I added the snap in for Disk management, the
performance item of "physical disk" still was not there.

Thank You
